We are looking for an Illustrator/Graphic Designer with a well-rounded, clear and likeable style to join our busy team in the heart of Cardiff Bay. Applicants must have a strong sense of form and be able to produce both foreground and background elements quickly and at a high standard.
Knowledge of Photoshop or Illustrator is also required.
The placement will be for approximately 5 weeks (full time hours) at our offices in Cardiff Bay.

E:DN presents John Thackara
E:DN, the network on design and sustainability for designers in Wales run by the Ecodesign Centre, continues it series of workshops by hosting 2 workshops/debates next month with John Thackara in Cardiff. John is probably best known for his work with Doors of Perception, a company that works with grassroots creatives in Europe and India on devising and working towards sustainable futures and for his work with the DOTT07 programme.
Jen & Steve from green design brand Loglike, recently moved from London to North Wales. Here, they screenprint graphics onto high quality, organic t-shirts, create heirloom candle holders out of antique saucers and upcycle vintage fabric into ‘stitch your own’ animal kits. All designs are produced from their tiny studio in rural NE Wales, just outside Llangollen.

The work of Welsh artist Gavin Nolan has something morbidly beautiful. The delicate brushwork is at odds with brutally applied splashes, swathes and scumbles. Despite this contradictory language, the rigorous glazing and twisted compositional tricks combine to harmonious effect. The paintings are discordant, disquieting and beautiful.

Hugo Boss by Matt Needle
Matt Needle is a Cardiff based Freelance Designer & Illustrator, He Graduated from University of Wales, Newport in 2009, by which time he had already began making a name for himself exhibiting around the UK and working for clients worldwide including Hugo Boss, The Big Chill Festival, Chelsea Flower Show and many more.
He is presently working at full steam, officially setting up his freelance design studio (early 2010), working on some great new projects as-well as collaborations (commercial & music video).
Electroacoustic Symposium 2010 - 25 / 26 March 2010
The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in partnership Sonic Artists in Wales will host a two day Electroacoustic Symposium featuring paper sessions, installations, workshops, listening sessions, listening posts and evening concert performances of Electroacoustic music and sonic art. In addition there will be a key note speech from Kevin Austin (CEC) via live video link.
